Volunteer Opportunities

Community involvement is needed to plant and maintain flowerbeds throughout Kalamazoo County.  Through our many partnerships, over 200 volunteers of all ages help us carry out this mission.  All volunteers receive a Kalamazoo in Bloom t-shirt for their help.

The following are opportunities to get involved and help our community thrive with beauty:

Adopt a bed in Bronson Park and commit to care for it during the summer.  Your name will appear on a flowerbed sign indicating you as the bed adopter.

Adopt Library Lane in Portage.  This an opportunity for several groups of 8-10 people to regularly care for the beds around Library Lane and in front of City Hall throughout the summer.  Group adopters' names will appear on a flowerbed sign on Library Lane.

Volunteer on planting days.  Flowers are planted in Portage on the 3rd Friday of May from 8am-noon.  Flowers are planted in Bronson Park the Thursday before Memorial Day from 9am-noon.  Pizza and beverages are served at noon.

Additional ways you can help support Kalamazoo in Bloom is through financial gifts.
